Safe Kids Wisconsin Preventing Accidental Injury Donate Now

Accidental pedestrian injuries are a leading cause of injury-related death in the United States for children ages 5 to 19. Approximately 19,183 child pedestrians are injured a year … that's 52 children a day! The Street Smarts programs have been created to help educate kids about safe pedestrian behaviors, in a fun, engaging format.

Street Smarts for ages 8-10 stresses the importance of using crosswalks and reading traffic signals so younger pedestrians learn the safest way to cross streets while they are still primarily walking with adults.

Street Smarts for ages 10-12 aims to reach pre-teens while they are still forming safe walking habits to encourage paying full attention when walking alone or with friends.
