Every 32 seconds in 2018, one child under the age of 13 in a passenger vehicle was involved in a crash. Many times, injuries and deaths can be prevented by proper use of car seats, boosters, and seat belts.
The below toolkit materials were created to encourage parents and caregivers to keep their child in a booster seat until they are at least 4'9" tall.
A study by Safe Kids Worldwide revealed that nine out of ten parents moved their child from a booster seat to a seat belt too soon. Transitioning a child from a booster seat to a seat belt too soon can increase the risk of injury or death to a child.
