Governor's Conference

The Pre-Governor's Conference Car Seat Check-up Event for Recertification will be held at the Lake Geneva Fire Department in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin on Tuesday, August 21st from 3:00pm-6:00pm.

This event will allow Child Passenger Safety Technicians and Instructors to get checked off on different types of car seats. 


The 44th annual Governor’s Conference on Highway Safety will be held at the Grand Geneva Resort & Spa in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin from August 22nd-August 23rd.

The Child Passenger Safety track will provide opportunities for CPS technicians to learn about:

  • Fundamentals of car seat crash testing and how child injury research is done

  • Dealing with unique needs concerning car seats

  • Dispelling inaccurate information about car seats

  • What is new in the industry from car seat manufacturers

*Many of these sessions will earn technicians continuing education units towards their recertification.

  Governor's Conference Scholarship Application

Scholarship Details:

  • A $95 discount will be applied to the total cost of registration if you are awarded a scholarship. Therefore, if you register during the early bird period your registration is free. 

Scholarship Eligibility:

  • Scholarships are only available to Wisconsin CPS Technicians and Instructors.
  • Expired CPS Technicians will not be eligible.

  Child Passenger Safety Hero Nomination Form

Wisconsin Child Passenger Safety Heroes is your opportunity to recognize an exceptional individual or group who have contributed to the field of Child Passenger Safety in Wisconsin.

Heroes do not have to attend the Governor’s Conference for you to nominate them. All nominees will be recognized in a presentation during the Wisconsin Governor’s Conference.
